Terms of Service
Last updated October 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of CICA AUDIO (the "Service"; "we" and "us" mean CICA AUDIO). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
CICA AUDIO turns a recording of a game or an interface into sound effects. You upload a video; the Service finds the moments that should make a sound (cicapoints), generates a sound effect for each event, lets you review and edit them on a timeline, and lets you download them as a WAV sound library.
You can also have sounds made from reference images and event descriptions through a connected AI assistant (see section 5).
The Service is delivered online. Nothing is shipped physically. Features may change.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.
Keep your account secure and do not share it. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@cicaaudio.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Commercial use of your sounds
The sounds the Service generates for you ("Output") are yours to use commercially. You may use them in commercial games, applications, videos, advertising and any other lawful project, worldwide and without time limit, with no royalties and no attribution required. This continues after you stop using the Service.
You may not resell or redistribute Output on its own as sound effects, for example as a sound pack or in a sound library for others, and you may not use it to build a competing sound-generation service.
Sounds are generated by machine-learning systems, and similar sounds may be generated for other users, so Output is not exclusive to you. You are responsible for how you use it.
4. Credits, prices and payment
Generating sounds uses credits, the Service's prepaid units. Cicapoints, the places in your video where sounds go, are not credits. New accounts receive free credits. Prices, the credits in each pack, and how many credits each generated sound and each regeneration uses are shown on our pricing page and in the Service before you act.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar (polar.sh), which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Polar handles payment, invoicing and sales taxes, and its buyer terms apply to your purchase. Applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout.
Credits do not currently expire. Free credits are given, not sold, and are not refundable. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or resold, and can only be used in the Service. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
5. Connected AI assistants (MCP)
You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude Code or Codex, to your account through the Service's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and authorize it to act for your account: for example, to describe events, send reference images, ask for quotes, generate sounds and download them.
What a connected assistant does with your authorization counts as your own use of the Service under these terms. The sounds it generates use your credits, within the daily credit limit you set for that connection, and are Output like any other. We cannot see your conversations with the assistant, so a generation it starts with your authorization uses credits as quoted.
You can revoke a connection at any time from your account. Connections that are authorized but never used are revoked automatically after a period.
The assistant itself is provided by its own company under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control it and are not responsible for it, for what it does outside the Service, or for how its provider handles your data.
6. Your content
You keep all rights in the videos and other material you upload, including the reference images and event descriptions a connected assistant sends for you ("Your Content"). You confirm you own Your Content or have the rights needed to upload it and to have sounds made for it, and that it is not unlawful, infringing or sexually explicit, and does not depict minors inappropriately.
7. Acceptable use
Do not: use the Service to break the law or infringe others' rights; upload malware or try to disrupt, probe or overload the Service; access it by automated means other than features we provide; resell or sublicense access to the Service; or copy the Service to build a competing product.
Do not use the Service to clone or imitate the voice of a real person, to make sexually explicit material, or to make content that infringes others' intellectual property or misleads people about where it came from.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue the paid Service, we will refund unused prepaid credits as described in our Refund Policy.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, the Service and Output are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Ending your use
You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to support@cicaaudio.com. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Sections 3, 6, 9, 11 and 12 survive the end of these terms.
11. Licence to operate and improve the Service
So we can run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and analyse Your Content and Output. You also allow us to use Your Content, Output and your edits to develop and improve the Service and the models behind it. We do not publish Your Content or sell it to others. How we handle this data is described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with the date it was updated and, for material changes, tell you in the Service or by email before they apply. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
